To eat or not eat

For some odd reason i woke up this morning wanting to watch a small documentary on youtube that one of my good friends had encouraged me to watch a while back. I had been dreading the documentary for quite a while now, but curiosity finally caught up with me. The documentary is called Meet your Meat. Yes, exactly what it says, "meet the meat you eat." As I watched the video, I recalled why I had dreaded the video so much. It certainly is something that you need to be prepared to watch specially if you have been a meat eater all your life. Indeed i found it to be a little or should i say much disturbing. the point is: it confused the living heck out of me. So for dinner, while cooking for my fiance, meat, because that's what we eat. I started to wonder. Is eating meat a matter of ethics, religion, or simply an act of survival? Does killing an animal mean we are killing a living organism for the sake of a good enjoyable taste, nutritional value, or for purpose of survival, the way God had originally intended.???

It'll always be home.

What is it about El Paso. I had always wanted to leave the city where I grew up in. Once I left I wanted to come right back. Here's the thing, no city will ever compare to a city where you hold an emotional value to. 'No city will have the most inexpensive mouth watering tamales, or menudo, and no city will ever have memories of your childhood. El Paso means warm and fuzzy to me. It smells like chocolate abuelita on a winter evening. And it spells H-O-M-E. It'll always be home. First time I left it was in January of this year 2008. I was offered an internship in D.C. I was there for the presidential inauguration, one of the best experiences I've had, thus far. And this is where it all began....
